What a weekend it was.  Tears of joy and tears of pain, laughs, commitment, and inspiration.  We are so proud of our 6 athletes who participated this weekend and went out of your way to represent NKY- you were all positioned perfectly and the teamwork we exude at the NKY far outweighs some of the elitism we saw this weekend.
Our athletes felt the support and I am so proud of each and every one of you that made the trip up to cheer for your own gym!  We had an awesome turn out of spectators, arrive early, staying late to cheer for the 30minutes that the NKY was on the competition floor.
I have said it before and I will say it again, the NKY has something very special within us and on weekends like this, we shine!   We love you all and know you have been inspired… there’s nothing else but…..3….2…1….let’s go!!

    Amazing job everyone! I never thought I could be so proud. I’m totally inspired by all of you who competed and hope to be able to compete side by side someday.

    Great job everyone! We were cheering for you all weekend! Courtney and I represented well today in Hilton Head…. Only ladies able to do toes to bar, worked hard on power snatches, only girls (and even most boys weren’t) to do hand stand pushups! Also did a dynamic set of 3-3-3 push press, again lifted more than some of the boys! Who said vaca was all about laying around and drinking….oh wait, it will be soon:)

    Good working with Kyle and Chad today! Finished with 175 3x’s. 1:34 on the mini WOD.

  • Worked with Bridget tonight on the Thrusters:
    55/65/75/85/90 x 3 Failed on 95, but thanks to Bridget for suggesting dropping to 90 – not sure why I didn’t think of that automatically! Felt pretty good, but I’ve a long way to go to get to the level of those Regional girls – how inspiring!

    2:20-ish on the mini-wod. Rachel was too kind on those push-ups though, I’m afraid. I’ll have to work on really touching each time from now on.

    Nice work 5:30 (and 4:30 and 6:30!) 🙂

  • Got 165 2X just like my hero Sean. Failed at 175. Need to work on using my legs. Mini WOD in 1:21.

  • Bad day at work and bad day in the gym…it’s all good though, got me a workout in with a lot of extra burpees! ;). Thanks Sean for giving me that look…the look of “who cares how long it takes, don’t drop to your knees on those push ups”. 😉

    Fun watching the 5:30 group today and then working with the 6:30 crew.
    50-55-60-65-70-75 x 3. Thanks for the tips Armando. I’m always thankful for the tips for improvement! It’s great fun for me to see that every time we do a weight based WOD that I’m increasing my weights from the prior WODS!
    1:57 on the mini-WOD. Loved Kim making me “chest to floor” each time on my pushups. Must make that my norm.
    Was GREAT to see most of our regional heros today! So proud of you guys!

  • 225×3 for my max 3 rep thruster and 1:25 on the mini_WOD. I have no clue how I could have gone much faster on the mini-WOD. I was almost jumping/hand-release pushups I was coming up so fast on both. Yet another WOD where height is a disadvantage.

    Ugh thrusters….
    65-75-85-95-105 115×1 then fail. Couldn’t get to the second rep even though I tried 3 times!! Still happy to get to 105!
    1:55 on the mini WOD.

    55, 65, 75, 80, 85 X1 🙁 Really wanted to get that 90, next time I guess.
    Thanks for the push on the mini Linda! Took me 3 minutes so nice “burpee cool down” to follow. Good job by all at 6:30. Congratulations to all the regional competitors. You guys are truly amazing!
