Welcome to Crossfit Northern Kentucky

We are proud to be the first officially licensed CrossFit affiliate in the Northern Kentucky area and are completely committed to the CrossFit principles of  constantly varied, functional fitness with a strong base of sound nutritional habits.

We are not your typical gym. We are actually not a gym at all, we are a community of people focused on making each other better than we were yesterday. For some, that means aspiring to elite levels of fitness.  For others, it means being able to get down on the floor to play with our grandchildren (and easily getting back up again!). The majority of us are here because we have discovered that being a part of a community that wants to see you succeed plays a vital role in your journey to health and wellness.  If you miss a class, somebody reaches out. We care. If you are struggling through a workout, we encourage you to finish. We care. We start the workout together and nobody leaves until we are all finished. We care. 

We are invested in your success.  We are invested in your friendship.  It’s not unusual to see a group of our members hanging out together outside of the gym, as well.  We love getting together to celebrate the friendships in our gym family! We’ve taken overnight road trips to watch CrossFit competitions, we hold annual Christmas parties, host in-house competitions, take canoe trips, love grabbing breakfast or dinner after a tough workout, and participate together in many local fitness events.  It’s not unusual to find a group of us talking over coffee long after a workout has ended, catching up and sharing life. The benefit of having members ages 5-80 is that we can offer the support you need, when you need it. New moms benefit from experienced mothers. New grads benefit from members in the workforce. Older adults just starting out in fitness benefit from the knowledge and experience of seasoned CrossFitters. This is how a community thrives–support, kindness, and encouragement, while working toward common goals.

9am CrossFit Class

 We’ve used the same workouts for elderly individuals with heart disease as we do for our elite, competitive level athletes. We scale load (amount of weight used) and intensity; we don’t change programs. The CrossFit program is by design, very broad and general, which gives way to effectiveness.

The training here is intentionally programmed and monitored closely by a certified coach in each class. Each training session has a purpose and developmental goal behind it. There are no “chest days” or “arm days” in our training. Every workout will work the body as it is meant to be worked: as one functioning unit. The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. What is scalability? Glad you asked.  It means anybody can do any workout, we just adjust it to your needs.

Trainers often hear this statement from people who don’t do CrossFit, and I

want to apologize for giving you the wrong impression.  I’m here to tell you
CrossFit is not a sink-or-swim fitness program, and no minimum level of
fitness is required. You can do CrossFit—but I know why you doubt that.

Our specialty is in NOT SPECIALIZING. Combat, sports, nature and life in general tend to reward our type of generalized fitness, and punish the specialists. To get started, all you have to do is call or stop by Crossfit NKY. We will discuss the CrossFit principles, learn a few exercises and get a quick workout in. Your first workout is always FREE. All we ask is that you have an open mind about what you experience, are motivated to incorporate a healthy lifestyle, and that you ask a lot of questions! Our community is waiting to welcome you and support you!
